The Georgia Museum of Agriculture Country Store

The Georgia Museum of Agriculture (GMA), Tifton’s largest attraction, features several different areas for visitors to experience – the Museum Main Hall and its displays, the Art Gallery and its rotating exhibits and of course the Historic Village, complete with costumed interpreters. But the first stop you make when you visit the GMA is the Country Store!

The Country Store is a great stop, whether you are a tourist or a local. The store has everything from old-fashioned toys, clothing for all ages and home décor to ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn and other fun treats! You can also find a variety of Georgia Grown products, souvenirs, snacks and seasonal items.

The Country Store is the perfect rest stop for those traveling and a great after-school treat for the locals. You can enjoy some rest and relaxation at one of their brightly colored picnic tables while the kids play on the playground which features multiple swings, climbing structures, see-saws and more.

One of the biggest thrills at the GMA is the Steam Train! And the Country Store features a train stop! Climb aboard the Steam Train, built in 1926 and take a ride back in time to see what Southwest Georgia was like in the 19th century. The train takes a leisurely ride around the entire village. Right now, the train runs only on Saturdays or for special occasions.

The GMA Country Store hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 am until 5 pm and Friday and Saturday from 9 am until 6 pm. Admission to the playground at the Country Store is free. Admission to the museum and the train ride are separate and can be purchased at the Country Store.
